burp

Friday, September 12th, 2008

they should do a service like blip.fm, only for food.

they should call it burp.

You enter the food you are eating at the moment, and get a list of people eating the same food.

If you want, you can add these people to your network.

People could also add you to their network if you eat something they would like to eat too, like Marzipan, for example.

I think that’s a really good idea.

tree climbing goats

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

These goats climb the Argan trees in Morocco in search of food.

The locals collect the goats droppings, which contain the kernels of the seeds they consumed.

They press and grind it into oil.

I’ve heard of this oil, but I never knew it originated in goat droppings.

Now that I know, I am sure to use it, just like I am sure to drink Kopi Luwak, made from coffee berries which have been eaten by and passed through the digestive tract of the Asian palm Civet.

atheist finds nothing in his toast

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Cynical-C Chris made himself toast when he realized he was staring at the face of NOBODY in the toast!

What are the chances of an atheist getting a piece of toast that looks like nothing?

mother of the year

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

yesterday i made roast chicken and today vegetable soup.

I asked the men if the food came out OK.

James said it’s wonderful and Noah said “I like it even better than dad”. He ate two full portions of it!

I think there’s nothing that makes me feel better than having my son stuff himself with food i made.

airline meals

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

crabby rangoon’s comment on my last post inspired me to dedicate a complete post to airline meals. Crabby tells about a terrible breakfast she had. she blogged about it here. she’s even posted an excellent photo of the remains.

I admit. I wrote that I like airline food, but nowhere in my post did I say it was tasty. Every time I board a flight, I swear I will not touch the food served on it. I even bring sandwiches from home. But once the small plastic trays are served with the little compartments and packages, I can’t help myself.

I always regret having the meal after eating it. I usually don’t make it to the destination and have to empty myself in some form or other in the airplane small toilet.

Mind you, this is on luxury flights, when we decide to spoil ourselves and take the economy class of a charter plane. Usually we fly with the goats in the back. If the food was not prepared beforehand, we would probably be peeling the potatoes for the other passengers. “Faster!” the head stewerdess would shout: “lunch is almost served and the potatoes aren’t cooked yet!”.

But the food is prepared beforehand, so our only task is making sure the goats don’t eat the passengers luggage. They have a habit of doing that.

week 38

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

I haven’t written anything in a few days. I’ve posted, but not written. the reason is, that I’ve nothing to write about. I’m tired and my mind is blank. the baby could come between now and even a month away, if he insists on staying inside.

I’m supposed to meet Aya and Karin for coffee this morning at the bonne patisserie. I’ve said before that that cafe can’t go wrong, but the sandwich I’ve eaten there Friday was far from perfect and it made me think of airline food. good thing i like airline food. i know it’s sick, but i like the little boxes it arrives in with everything packed in separate packages.

scented stamps

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

This is only one of a few scented stamps Tony Servies presents in the blog stamps of distinction. It’s a sweet and sour pork scented stamp from China. It was issued in 2007 in honor of year of the pig. Tony writes that he cannot substantiate weather the glue on the back tastes like pork or not. via
