noah’s birthday is coming up
i have started planning noah’s birthday which is in a little more than a month. believe me, it’s not too soon.
every year we just hang at the park and have a great time. but i can’t rely on things to just flow anymore. he’s going to be 5 now. he’s seen a birthday or two in his life. i need a plan!
a good step towards a plan was to choose a theme. i’ve decide on “the final frontier” (thanks for the suggestions, friends). it’s either that or the human body. but the space thing seems easier and is very nice. i’ve found some good suggestion in family fun.
i need to come up with activities, make a guest list, buy materials and goodies, design a cake, prepare invitations etc…
here’s the cake i made last year:
i think it’s not bad. i go for simple and cute.

when we were kids, nobody brought a clown or a caterer and we were very happy with our birthdays. i don’t see any reason for this to change. but because kids are more sophisticated these days and have greater expectations, i will do more than just bake a cake.

wow! this post sure generated lots of comments. a big thanks to all! guy from cyprus, sorry, but the birthday will be held after the 28th of february. we do not celebrate birthdays prior their date. dianne says it brings bad carma. and we don’t want that. but, we could go out and celebrate on the weekend of the 20th with no special reason, cause that’s what we always do when you’re here!
