how many goats are you worth?

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

My grandma Ester used to crochet for me. Everytime she came to visit, she would bring tons of white ornaments she made for me and say I should keep them for my Nedunia - my dowry.

When I got married, I never gave them to James’ family.

This quiz checks what your dowry will be, by answering the question that’s always on your mind:

How many goats are you worth.

songs to grow on

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

Baby and me are listening to Woody Guthrie’s “Songs to grow on for mother and child”.

We used to listen to it all the time hen Noah was a baby.

It’s a beautiful album filled with little loving songs Guthrie wrote his children.

The songs were recorded in 1947 and released in 1956.

Guthrie said he tried to slant the songs at citizens from 4 to 6, but spilled over a little on every side.

the red balloon

Friday, August 8th, 2008

Ballon Air De Paris is a hot-air balloon that changes color according to the level of pollution in the Parisian air.

The colors range from green, when the air is clean, to red, when the air is very polluted.

The balloon can be seen from 20 km away, so all the citizens of Paris know when it’s safe to leave the house as you are and when it’s best to wear a gas mask when taking a stroll outside.

And that’s not the only thing the balloon does! It also offers rides around Paris!

another day, another foot

Friday, August 8th, 2008

I cannot believe I forgot to blog about this.

The mystery feet never cease arriving.

This time, remains of a foot in a sports shoe arrived in Port Angeles, Washington.

the foot, just like the other five, seem to come off by itself.

This is so odd. What makes these feet fall off their owners legs? where is the rest of the body the feet was attached to?

I’m thinking voodoo. It’s either that or aliens. What else could explain it?

Yellow School Tricycle

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

This is the New-Delhi version of the American yellow school bus.

I liked the photo even before I noticed the sign in Hebrew in the back advertising Baba’s store.

My local supermarket is called Baba. I wonder what they are selling at the Indian Baba.
