Schoolgirl breaks world record for balancing snails on her face

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

Nine years old Tiana Walton of England has set a new world record by having 25 slimy snails slither over her eyes, nose and mouth.

that’s just disgusting!

I wonder if her parents made her practice every day until she got it right, preventing her from seing her friends or playing inside, in this case, until all 25 snails are balanced on her face properly.

i never realized how much time i had to myself with a single child.

these days i can’t even go to the toilet without having something or someone trying to yank me out of there before i’ve had a chance to flush.

all the mothers. they never complained. they never said a word.

i’m playing around with tools for busy people like me, like twitter, blip.fm and jaiku.

sweat city

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

it was hell today in tel-aviv.

i was running late to pick up Noah, and i was doing it with a baby in my arms.

The tel-aviv summer in 32 degrees celsius, which might have been somewhat bearable, if it weren’t for the humidity. 70%.

I was dripping, melting, sweating, swimming in sweat.

tree climbing goats

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

These goats climb the Argan trees in Morocco in search of food.

The locals collect the goats droppings, which contain the kernels of the seeds they consumed.

They press and grind it into oil.

I’ve heard of this oil, but I never knew it originated in goat droppings.

Now that I know, I am sure to use it, just like I am sure to drink Kopi Luwak, made from coffee berries which have been eaten by and passed through the digestive tract of the Asian palm Civet.

i wanted to take a shower, but there is no hot water, so i put on my grandmothers old bathrobe. it has a brown floral pattern.

I made myself some strange juice. James tasted it and said it’s disgusting and my cat made a face when she caught it’s smell. it’s a sour cherries syrup diluted in some water and sweetened with honey.

i am so tired. i was on my way to bed, when i realized i can’t take a bath, so i decided to wait. if i don’t take a shower now, i know i will regret it in the morning.

i still don’t know what i’m going to read when i get to bed. i finished reading today an inspector Maigret story by Georges Simenon. I’ve read a few Simenon’s, but this is the first of his Maigret I read. It was very good. It’s called “Le Pendu de Saint-Pholien”.

i think the water is good by now.

good night.
