I did it!

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Today I went out of the house.

It’s not the first time I leave the house since the birth (it’s the third), but it’s the first time I leave the house alone with the baby to get Noah from the kindergarten.

That’s a very big achievement for me because i don’t like going out of the house at all, baby or no baby, especially not in the summer.

The whole operation was very badly organized and i was late to pick up Noah (first time ever!), because 15 minutes before they close the kindergarten I was still breastfeeding at home. But all-in-all I have to say the experience was very exciting, and less hot and complicated than I anticipated.

this is noah standing near the remains of our old washing machine. it broke when the baby was born and we bought a new one with a digital display and a timer and automatic weight. it actually weighs the laundry and knows how much water to use. unbelievable!

any way, noah helped james disassemble the washing machine so james can take it down the stairs. he enjoyed it so much i didn’t say a word about the time. it was way past his bed time.

the newest addition to our family was born on wednesday, july 16, 2008. he still has no name. i want to call him ira, but james doesn’t like the name. he suggested itamar, which i don’t want. I asked noah what he thinks we should call the baby and he said “the baby who likes milk”.

i was released from the hospital saturday but i didn’t feel like posting.

when i came home, i decided to start fresh, and marked the thousands posts in google reader as read. you cannot imagine how hard it was for me to do.

today i carried the baby in a sling (i think that’s what it’s called) and could read some posts and even found something to tell about in my blog.

that’s for the next post.

hadacol christmas (part one)

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Santa Claus invents Christmas with a belly full of cough syrup and a head full of dying crows.

film by indie film maker brent green, a mixed media artist who accompanies his animations with live narration and music performed by him and his band.

according to cartoon brew, watching his movies on youtube is not the same as seeing a live performance, but since i am not going to make it to los angeles on july 22, i guess this will have to do.
