airline meals

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

crabby rangoon’s comment on my last post inspired me to dedicate a complete post to airline meals. Crabby tells about a terrible breakfast she had. she blogged about it here. she’s even posted an excellent photo of the remains.

I admit. I wrote that I like airline food, but nowhere in my post did I say it was tasty. Every time I board a flight, I swear I will not touch the food served on it. I even bring sandwiches from home. But once the small plastic trays are served with the little compartments and packages, I can’t help myself.

I always regret having the meal after eating it. I usually don’t make it to the destination and have to empty myself in some form or other in the airplane small toilet.

Mind you, this is on luxury flights, when we decide to spoil ourselves and take the economy class of a charter plane. Usually we fly with the goats in the back. If the food was not prepared beforehand, we would probably be peeling the potatoes for the other passengers. “Faster!” the head stewerdess would shout: “lunch is almost served and the potatoes aren’t cooked yet!”.

But the food is prepared beforehand, so our only task is making sure the goats don’t eat the passengers luggage. They have a habit of doing that.

week 38

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

I haven’t written anything in a few days. I’ve posted, but not written. the reason is, that I’ve nothing to write about. I’m tired and my mind is blank. the baby could come between now and even a month away, if he insists on staying inside.

I’m supposed to meet Aya and Karin for coffee this morning at the bonne patisserie. I’ve said before that that cafe can’t go wrong, but the sandwich I’ve eaten there Friday was far from perfect and it made me think of airline food. good thing i like airline food. i know it’s sick, but i like the little boxes it arrives in with everything packed in separate packages.
