i’m having a crappy morning. james and the kids went to spend the day without me (per my request) and i’m trying to catch up on some important adult obligations.
i’m supposed to prepare an important document for the kindergarten moms. what better time than to add a little content to my blog.
went out last night. had only one glass of wine but as soon as we entered 13, my body remembered the traumatic over drinking from my birthday and I started feeling really bad. thankfully i didn’t end up in the bushes this time and made it home safely.
my theory, that if i hang out with friends thursday / friday, i’m much nicer to my kids on saturday has crumbled like a crumble. maybe I should have had a little more to drink last night.
here is some photos i took with my phone this week:

i’m really happy by the fact that i’ve managed to create a huge distraction from my birthday tomorrow.
instead of sitting and moping about the fact that i’m 36 (didn’t mind 35, but 36 is a bit disturbing), i’ve managed to book myself a performance at a very higly esteemed joint called the tzimmer.
I was feeling very sure of myself until about two hours ago when i decided i’m going to suck and my material is either old or lame. too late now. have to hope for the best.
here are the latest from my phone (camera shots are on flickr):

in the photos: french toast for breakfast, noah’s pallette, dry ice experiment and found object.

had an awsome day yesterday
woke up too early.
managed to rot in front of my laptop for about two hours, then went very slowly to shop for other people’s birthday presents and brought a ton of clothes to the tailor (something i’ve been planning to do for ages).
somewhere along the way yotam called and invited me to see daniel’s new project “three falling”.
the show was brilliant and it was followed by a awesome afternoon with the cast and friends.
i finally have a new phone that can take photos and videos (my last one couldnt) so here are some photos i took with it today:
in the photos: old jeans, jamming at danny’s, a robot that looks like he belongs to shiri on nahmani, bathing baby, upside down bedside plant and a fresh wound on k’s knee. did you ever see blood with such a magnificent color?

sitting here, in the middle of the night, after giving my one year old uri an empty bottle and seeing him act like the frustrated little bear cub that he is.
was checking my email cause that’s the normal thing to do after you get up to your baby at four am when i saw that a new comment has arrived on one of my older posts.
now, those of you with a keen eye will notice or might even remember (if you’re loyal) that i haven’t posted anything since february. i was too busy for my blog, what with having two kids and a life (and a twitter account).
the fact that i’ve just posted something new, does not imply, in any way, that i am more available for my blog these days. nothing could be further from the truth.
i wish they would like invent a new system that would allow me to have more time for my self. I’ll go to sleep at around midnight, which would be like SEVEN hours after the kids went to sleep, at eight pm. There is so much I’d like to do every evening and there just isn’t enough time.
anyway, the comment turned out to be spam (big surprise!) and I don’t plan to start posting here regularly again, but I suddenly felt like posting something.
this is me these days:

this is to let you know that i’m not writing this blog anymore. at least not any time soon. the last six months proved to me that i can’t handle two kids, a cat and a blog. i’ve come to the conclusion that something has got to go. i tried throwing the cat out, but she keeps coming back. so it has to be the blog that’s out.
i’ll try and come back after things settle down. after noah’s 5th birthday. after we move to a new place.
for those who miss me, you can follow me on twitter, friend me on facebook, or just email me: wdf at ellanovak dot com

it’s very early in the morning and the kids haven’t woken up yet, so i’m taking the time to post something in my poor little neglected blog.
jen stark creates lovely paper sculptures.

this one, called “how to become a millionaire in 100 days” she made of 1,000,000 pieces of hand cut paper.
i’m finishing this post in the evening. uri’s asleep and noah still isn’t back from his music class.

i have started planning noah’s birthday which is in a little more than a month. believe me, it’s not too soon.
every year we just hang at the park and have a great time. but i can’t rely on things to just flow anymore. he’s going to be 5 now. he’s seen a birthday or two in his life. i need a plan!
a good step towards a plan was to choose a theme. i’ve decide on “the final frontier” (thanks for the suggestions, friends). it’s either that or the human body. but the space thing seems easier and is very nice. i’ve found some good suggestion in family fun.
i need to come up with activities, make a guest list, buy materials and goodies, design a cake, prepare invitations etc…
here’s the cake i made last year:

i think it’s not bad. i go for simple and cute.

this carpet, by la chanh nguyen is made of three kinds of moss which thrive in a humid environment like a bathroom.
i’ve always likes moss. i used to peel it off the sidewalks in the winter and paste it in my potted plants.
